History

High above the Santa Clara Valley, the rich heritage of Fellom Ranch Vineyards founded by Senator Roy Fellom, serves as the hallmark for unique and legendary wines.

Our History runs
Deep
as
our
roots

Fellom Ranch is located in California on the eastern slope of the Santa Cruz Mountain range at 2200 feet elevation.

Perched upon the rolling hillsides of Montebello Ridge and back-dropped to the east by expansive views of the Silicon Valley and San Francisco‘s south bay peninsula. Fellom Ranch bears roots that reach deep into Santa Clara Valley's rich agricultural history.

The property was purchased in 1929 by California state senator Roy Fellom I. However, the lands lay fallow for two generations until the latter part of the 1970s when grandson Roy Fellom III took on the massive task of developing a vineyard and winery on the ranch lands.

One man’s vision and dream, with a commitment to create a vineyard and limited production winery, was a true labor of love and never backed by major corporate interests (domestic or foreign) or high finance investors. With hard work and time Roy successfully carved out of the steep hillsides A terraced vineyard of principally cabernet sauvignon with supplemental blocks of merlot and petite verdot. The old existing ranch house cellar was converted into a cooperage and production area.

The winery was bonded in 1987.  Just as earlier generations of pioneering Felloms tended to their land, today Roy and Karen Fellom nurture their estate vineyards and personally craft their award winning Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay. With limited annual case production rarely exceeding 1,500 cases, the Felloms devote their time and energy to produce a select collection of wines made without compromise.
