Our Estate Vineyard Cabernet debuts with this 2013 vintage after a long absence from our product line. Deep dark purple indicating great extraction. Gorgeous aromas laced with blackberries and cassis. On the palate smooth with medium tannins, good structure, long mid-palate with layers of bitter-sweet chocolate, anise and green olives. Slightly closed-in but drinkable now and will develop in the bottle to ten years. Classic higher elevation Cabernet. Not filtered, not fined, native yeast, aged 18 months in French oak. Great value for this outstanding, custom wine.

This vintage marks the first year of our association with the Amador County appellation. This Shenandoah Valley vineyard is located in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada above 1000 feet elevation. The location offers a combination of unique physical aspects conducive to the growth of Zinfandel grapes. Hot summer temperatures, consistently 90 to 100 degrees Fahrenheit and above, followed by the cooling night time Sacramento delta breezes combine with varied soil types, and good soil moisture, to produce great fruit. Our 2013 Zinfandel exemplifies this region's best. Firm acid, major fruit forward, higher alcohol and a touch of residual sugar makes this wine a "Fruit Bomb". Great with meat dishes (especially lamb), cheeses, or just to relax at the end of the day. Ruby red color, with aromas of raspberry and briar notes. On the palette opulent mouth feel with fig, black cherry and essence of walnuts. Unfiltered, aged in French oak.

We sourced these grapes from a small local vineyard located on Montebello Ridge, Santa Cruz Mtns. California, approximately 1000' elevation. The hillside vineyard, dry farmed on limestone based soils, faces south east and has good morning and mid-day exposure. The physical characteristics of the site yield low tonnage with small berries which come together to create an interesting and captivating merlot. Medium garnet color. Aromas of honey, fig and black cherry. On the palate firm acid, with eucalyptus notes, plums, berries and nice finish. Good tannins and well aged. Different palate experience then your usual valley-grown merlot.

Light straw color with hints of pear, apple and tropical notes. Great textural mouth feel, crisp, clean, well balanced. Not over-oaked or buttered up, not overbearing but finessed and easy to drink.
